What do you do with an old newspaper? Throw it away or recycle it? You could make a robber’s hat out of it. And why not a whole puppet theater play?

A donkey on his last legs, a feeble dog who can’t catch a hare on the hunt, a moaning old cat, and a desperate rooster refuse to give up and set off for Bremen to become town musicians. Because: “You’ll find something better than death anywhere,” says the donkey. And what the four friends experience along the way is something they would never have imagined possible. But in the end, their destination is closer than they thought.
