Traces
A musical journey with color on paper for youngsters
“Traces” is our interpretation of Anton Bruckner’s music – his atmospheric sounds, his monumental tones, and his evocative spaces. A score emerges, drawn and painted on white paper. The score is a map of a landscape through which we navigate. Everywhere we go, we leave traces. Every place we visit leaves traces in us. We each carry a colorful map inside us, with rivers, mountains, valleys, lakes – constantly growing and changing. We follow in the footsteps of those who have been here before. And I follow in your footsteps in order to take my own path. Our traces are both audible and visible. They make sounds and open up a space.
In this piece, we open up a space for encounters and invite the audience to leave their traces in paint. The result is a shared map that looks different each time, depending on the participants. We follow the sounds of Anton Bruckner, build bridges, and swim in lakes. Dancing on the Traunstein mountain and celebrating with forest fairies.
