With this play, Tom McGrath has created a light-hearted tribute to the greatest comedy duo in film history. Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy reunite to relive the highlights of their careers. In a musical-comedic roundelay – from their early days in the music halls, through their great successes under producer Hal Roach, to the end of their careers in France – Stan Laurel and his friend Oliver Hardy recount their life stories, interspersing key moments with short, live-performed clips from their films. The result is a touching twin portrait of the famous artistic duo, full of wordplay, slapstick, and situational comedy.
