Mother Hulda

A little dance play with puppets, music, and verses

Sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes slim, sometimes fat
Sometimes limping fudgy, pat pat pat!
Sometimes floppy-flabby without move
Sometimes honey-sweet and fine and smooth
Sometimes young and fresh, then really really old.
Mother Hulda, oh so manyfold!

Iduna Hegen slips into the many characters of the well-known fairytale, and Andreas Pichler accompanies her on the hammered dulcimer. Together, they tell the story of the well-behaved and the naughty Mary, the magic well, the many tasks, and all the feather beds that need to be fluffed up. With plenty of imagination, puppets, and surprising twists, a magical theatrical world comes to life. A true classic that’s not to be missed.
